THE FELTMAKER studio is in a former milking shed behind a 100 yr old woolshed complete with the original wool press. A stream runs past the sheds and the holding pens and a windmill stands in the next paddock overlooked by the site of a former timber mill. Across the main road the Waikato River flows on to Port Waikato and out to the Tasman Sea.
The rough sawn timber walls and uneven concrete floor are the rustic display space for Rosemary Sinclairs original designs in NZ felted wool. Merino gives lightweight warmth with a touch of luxury for scarves & wraps, slippers & bootees, cushions, bags, jackets & more.
Jewellery made from felt beads, silk cocoons, fine wire, feathers, buttons etc in a variety of textures and styles make great accessories for anyone who loves something different.
Sharing the space are Rosemary Hoods colourful quilts, gollies and bags proving these old favourites are still as popular in homes today.
At 2181 Tuakau Bridge/Port Waikato Rd the studio is 21 kms from the bridge on the left and directly behind the Old Woolshed through farm gates.
